Get to Know Realtor Karen Stern

Karen Stern is one of our newest Davidson Realty Agents, but you’ve probably heard her name before.  Karen has served our St. Augustine community for many years, including terms as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the St. Johns County Commission.

What attracted Karen to public service is the same thing that she enjoys most about being a Realtor: working with people. “I love working with people on all sides of the business.  It’s especially fulfilling to know that I’m assisting people in achieving their dream of home ownership,” says Karen.

Karen has lived in St. Augustine for more than 25 years, and is one of it’s biggest fans.  “My favorite thing about living in St. Augustine is feeling like I’m always on vacation.  When I get an itch to travel, I can go to downtown St. Augustine for a mini-getaway,” she says.

Traveling is one of Karen’s favorite pastimes. “My perfect day would be enjoying a delicious French meal, with wine of course, at a quaint corner bistro in Paris.”  Gardening, reading, art and spending time with friends and family are other things that Karen enjoys.

Something that many people don’t know about Karen and, perhaps an early indication of her new found career in real estate, is that years ago Karen bought old, unoccupied houses in smalls towns in Alabama and Mississippi to restore.  “They were the epitome of fixer-uppers and I loved to bring them back to life so that people could make them a home of their own,” she says.
