Davidson Cares Raises Over $5,000 with Leprechaun Chase 10k/5k and Cooler Raffle!

Davidson Cares’ second annual race, the Davidson Cares’ Leprechaun Chase 10k/5k and Kid’s Fun Run, was a hit with our schools, running clubs, local competitive runners and World Golf Village neighbors! The race took place on Saturday, March 7th at 9 am in World Golf Village’s town center. Between the race and Davidson Cares’ First Annual Cooler & Cocktail Raffle, over $5,000 was raised for Mill Creek Elementary, Wards Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary, Pacetti Bay Middle School and Nease High School.

There were over 200 runners and walkers present, as well as over 40 children participating in the kid’s one mile Fun Run around the Walk of Champions. The weather could not have been more perfect for a nice jog! Congratulations to Xi Cao and Laura Dobbs who won top overall for the 10k and Kurt Hubbard and Peyton Hendricks for top overall for the 5k.

The winner of the Davidson Cares’ Cooler & Cocktail Raffle was announced right after the race. The large cooler was stocked with 17 bottles of premium liquors, as well extra goodies including cocktail napkins, shot glasses, margarita salt, jalapeno peanuts and more. The winner was Davidson Realty agent and Palencia resident Ben English. Ben could not be happier with his prize!
