From K-9s to Kilimanjaro: Davidson Agents Give Back In Many Ways

Davidson Realty is home to the First Coast’s best real estate agents. What makes them great Realtors—in addition to their superb knowledge and experience—also makes them outstanding philanthropists: a steadfast dedication to helping people.

“Many of our Realtors donate their time and resources to charities throughout Northeast Florida,” said Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson. “We do our best to support the generous efforts of our agents.”

Here are just some of the great things our agents have recently done to make a difference:

Christopher Della Rocco reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro on New Year’s Day 2016 to support the Tim Tebow Foundation, which works to improve the lives of children through outreach and events. Rocco, as he’s known here at Davidson, raised $5,570 ahead of the six-day trek to climb Africa’s tallest mountain.
Mirtha Barzaga holds annual food and toy drives during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, from which she donates proceeds to the Emergency Services & Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County. Also, when any teacher refers a customer to Mirtha, 25 percent of her net commissions go back to that teacher’s classroom. Her partner vendors do the same with referral proceeds. If that’s not enough, Mirtha serves on the SAC advisory group for Wards Creek Elementary School to help ensure the school has plenty of supplies.
Pauline Cake and Mirtha Barzaga both signed on as $500 level supporters for our own Davidson Cares for three years.
Ana Speziale serves as a Homes for Heroes agent, for which she gives back 25 percent of her commissions to buyers and sellers who are local heroes. Heroes include active or retired firefighters, medical emergency and healthcare professionals, military, law enforcement and teachers.
Gail George dedicates her time as a Board member for Habitat for Humanity of St. Augustine/St. Johns County. In fact, Shelley Nemethy, Margherite Myers, Erin Mount and Gail all lent their time to Women Build Week 2015 to help build Habitat homes.
Joanne Samuelson works with the Florida Park Service and Florida Wildlife Commission to help protect shore and seabirds. She serves as a “Bird Steward” in St. Johns County, helping to collect bird data that is added to the national database shared by the National Audubon Society, Florida Wildlife Commission, National Park Service and Florida Park Service.
Liz Pappaceno volunteers for the Early Learning Coalition in St. Augustine. Liz takes time out of her busy schedule to read to preschool classes each week. She also devotes her time to announce JV lacrosse games at Nease High School.
Amanda Houser collects and donates preemie clothes every year in lieu of presents for her son Wyatt’s birthday. On his birthday, she takes the donated clothes to Baptist South NICU where Wyatt stayed for a week after his birth.
Kim Andreatta serves on the Board of Directors for Florida Service Dogs, an organization that trains and places service dogs. The charity provides the trained companions to clients with disabilities free of charge.

Our gratitude goes out these individuals for their contributions to our community!
