Davidson Networking Spotlight: Jessie Lindstrom Norman of Jessie Lindstrom Aesthetics

Visit Jessie Norman’s skincare boutique and you will find facials, peels and a myriad of other services. But one thing you won’t find is a one-size-fits-all experience. Jessie, a certified Medical Aesthetician, carefully customizes services to each client based on their specific skin.

The experienced skincare provider launched her business, Jessie Lindstrom Aesthetics, earlier this year in Ponte Vedra Beach. She is also a regular attendee at Davidson Realty’s monthly B2B Networking Events in Jacksonville Beach.

Tell us a bit about your services. I offer facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, oxygen treatments and dermaplane. Facial services are offered in 30-, 60- and 90-minute increments and are customizable. I offer additional enhancements to treat skin types and conditions. For example, let’s say you have an oily skin type, but your skin condition is dehydrated, congested with blackheads, and you are focused on anti-aging. We can treat all those conditions and concerns. No one falls into just one category of skin conditions.

What sets you apart from other skin care businesses?  There are two main factors that set me apart, the first being the skincare brands I use in service. I use Sorella Apothecary in all services and I’m a brand partner with the company. It is botanically based, gluten-free and vegan. My clinical line is PCA SKIN and I hold my advanced PCA SKIN peel certification. It is important to understand that a results-driven, professional skincare line means there is a higher percentage of active ingredients, therefore you see results much quicker.

The second is that I truly focus on providing a customized facial experience for each individual, whether it be their first or 50th facial with me. I love to give a facial service that is truly customized and results-driven, and still includes all the wonderful relaxation components.

What made you want to pursue a career in aesthetics?  I have always had a love of skincare and products, and enjoyed the spa setting, so I thought, ‘hey, why not become an aesthetician and turn what I love to do into a career?’

What business advice would you give your younger self? Honestly, I wish I had started my business sooner. It is a scary time starting a business, for it’s the world of the unknown and there is not a blueprint or formula for doing it. You just have to jump and start doing it. Sure, there is the essential business plan, but I will tell you that things will not necessarily go according to plan, and that’s okay. The beauty is in learning to fly when you jump.

My best advice: save money but spend it on what makes you happy. If you want to start a business, do it. What are you waiting for? Why wait for anything in life? Go and create it. 

What’s your background before Jessie Lindstrom Aesthetics?  I am a retired ballet dancer; I danced professionally for five years. I then went to surgical technology school and worked in cardiothoracic (heart and lungs), and then dermatology. That’s when I really fell in love with skincare treatments.

The majority of my education is within the skincare industry, including training in Obagi, SkinCeuticals, Sorella Apothecary, PCA SKIN, Eminence Organics, and more. I’ve received certifications in non-invasive skincare treatments like Clear+Brilliant (Baby Fraxel), collagen induction therapy (microneedling), radio frequency for skin tightening, AdvancedTCA, Jessner chemical peels, oxygen therapy and more. I am also a make-up artist with NARS Cosmetics.

Do you have any current promotions?  I have several ongoing promotions: Tuesdays are 10% off entire facial services for local country club members, Wednesdays are 10% off enhancements with a facial service, and Thursdays are 10% off Gentleman’s Facial (men’s only facial service).

What do you like to do in your free time?  I love the beach, cycling, cooking, and spending as much time as I can with friends and family. And dogs…I really love spending time with Morgan and Barry, two dogs who mean so much to me.
