We’ve put together a list of our favorite winter events happening around town, offering a little something for everyone—and maybe even a chance to try something new. From cultural celebrations like the Celtic Music and Heritage Festival to concerts featuring iconic bands like The Beach Boys and The Gipsy Kings to uniquely St. Augustine events like The Florida Man Games™, this seaside town has it all. Discover Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Festival – February 6-16

The annual Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series celebrates the rich history and cultural significance of Fort Mose, the first legally recognized free African settlement in what is now the United States. Held at the Fort Mose Historic State Park, this series brings acclaimed jazz and blues artists to this historic site, honoring its legacy through unforgettable performances.

Flight to Freedom at Fort Mose Historic State Park – February 20-22

Step back in time to 1738 as you walk the wooded Freedom Trail and enter the world of Fort Mose, where brave men, women and children risked everything for freedom. Escaping enslavement on British plantations, these Freedom Seekers embarked on a treacherous 300-mile journey through uncharted swamps, forests and waterways, traveling by night to evade capture.

 

Discover their hopes, fears, and sacrifices, and witness the birth of the original Underground Railroad—an alliance with the Yamassee tribe that paved the way to freedom. Feel the significance of Fort Mose, a culturally rich and diverse community on the northern border of Spanish St. Augustine, where liberty and heritage thrived. St. Augustine Spanish Food and Wine Festival – February 20-22

With over 4,000 years of winemaking history, Spanish wine has captivated palates across the globe, becoming a staple in Europe and a growing favorite in the U.S. The festival honors this legacy and promotes St. Augustine as the Spanish Wine Capital of America. Through vibrant events featuring Spanish culture, music, food and wine, the festival supports local charities and strengthens St. Augustine’s connection to its historic roots while boosting destination tourism. 40th Annual Cathedral Festival on the Mission Grounds – February 21-23

The 40th Annual Cathedral Festival takes place from Friday, February 21, to Sunday, February 23, at Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine. This exciting event features rides, games, raffles, delicious food, live music, fireworks and much more—all supporting Cathedral Parish School.

 

Event hours are Friday from 5pm to 10:30pm, Saturday from noon to 10:30pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 9pm. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids ages 11–17 and seniors 65+, and free for active-duty military and children 10 and under.

 

The Florida Man Games™ – March 1 

Get ready for the ultimate showdown at the 2nd Annual Florida Man Games™, happening March 1 at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton! Hosted by Wicks (@omgitswicks) and co-host Kevin Flynn (@floridaman), this one-of-a-kind event is dubbed “the weirdest live athletic competition you’ve ever experienced.”

 

The games lineup promises plenty of laughs and chaos, including the Evading Arrest Obstacle Course, Weaponized Pool Noodle Mud Duel, Eat the Butt Challenge (where competitors race to finish a pork butt platter), Florida Sumo Cage Match & Beer Pitcher Chug, Hurricane Party Prep: Grocery Aisle Brawl and Human Beer Pong. St. Patrick Parade – March 8 

Celebrate the anniversary of the first St. Patrick’s Day celebration in America, held in 1600, and the world’s first recorded St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which took place right here in 1601! As the only St. Patrick’s Day parade in Northeast Florida, this historic event is a must-see.

It kicks off at 10am on Saturday, March 8, starting at Francis Field. From there, it travels east on Orange Street, heads south on Avenida Menendez along the bayfront, turns west on Cathedral Place, and loops back north on Cordova Street to conclude at the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival at Francis Field – March 8-9

Did you know that St. Augustine is America’s oldest Celtic city? With its historical roots dating back to the original St. Patrick’s Parade in 1601, this ancient city has celebrated its rich Celtic heritage for centuries. Since 2011, it has been home to the multi-award-winning St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival, a must-attend event for locals and visitors alike.

 

This vibrant weekend festival features top international and U.S. Celtic bands, thrilling Highland games, whiskey tastings, workshops, lectures, Celtic food, artisan crafts, a Kid’s Zone and much more. If you haven’t experienced it yet, now’s the time! The festival takes place on Saturday, March 8, from 10am to 10pm, and Sunday, March 9, from 10am to 7pm. St. Augustine Amphitheatre

The St. Augustine Amphitheater, affectionately known as “The Amp,” is a premier entertainment venue nestled in the heart of the nation’s oldest city. Surrounded by lush Anastasia State Park, this outdoor amphitheater offers a stunning backdrop for live music, performances, and community events.
