Take Stock in Children Graduation

Davidson Cares, the corporate giving program of Davidson Realty, has been dedicated to supporting kids throughout Northeast Florida through a variety of charitable endeavors since 2012. This year, Davidson Cares continues investing in local youths through the Take Stock in Children initiative.

 

“Take Stock in Children is a wonderful organization,” shares Sherry Davidson, owner of Davidson Realty. “They share our mission and values, which are focused on strengthening family and kids through educational and youth-based programs. Take Stock helps their scholars take the next step in their careers and lives. The young adults that receive these scholarships work so hard to earn this opportunity. The recipients are usually the first generation of college attendees in their families, so it’s incredibly exciting to provide that opportunity.”

 

The Take Stock in Children program provides post-secondary completion and degree attainment support services for scholars enrolled in one of Florida’s public universities and colleges. It offers continued support to these young adults who may need to help them navigate college, problem-solve issues when they arise, and help develop life skills that translate to their working lives. Around 90% of Take Stock in Children scholars enroll in college and 72% complete their degree.

 

“This year we’ve donated three college scholarships to highschoolers just graduating,” continues Davidson. “And we wouldn’t be able to continue providing these types of opportunities without the continued support of the businesses and organizations that continue to donate to Davidson Cares. To recognize their generosity, we’ve named these scholarships after three of our most dedicated partners: Providence Homes, Riverside Homes, and Vallencourt Construction.”

 

Since 2012, Davidson Cares has raised just shy of $500,000 with the generous support of their sponsors. Providence Homes is a Jacksonville homebuilder that specializes in beautiful and affordable designs featuring the latest in energy efficient and zero energy technology. Riverside Homes is a full-service homebuilder and a 2023 Jacksonville Magazine’s ‘Companies with Heart’ Honoree. Family-owned and operated out of Green Cove Springs, Vallencourt Construction specializes in services such as clearing, earthwork, underground utility installation, roadbuilding, and more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The three students who earned the scholarships are Dalil, Celine, and William. Their hard work was recognized and celebrated at the Take Stock in Children Graduates Celebration on Monday, May 15th. Hosted in partnership with Investing in Kids (INK!), the event celebrated all scholarship recipients and included graduates and their families, Take Stock Mentors, and other honored guests.
