Last Chance for Tax Credit Savings

iStock_000005410463XSmallWith the home buying tax credit set to expire April 30th, there’s no time to waste to find out if YOU qualify for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  From now through  April 17th, Davidson Realty is holding Tax Credit Open Houses each Saturday where on-site experts will help you determine how much Tax Credit you may qualify for. Stop by on Saturday anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm and we’ll explain the $8,000 tax credit for first time buyers and the $6,500 for current home owners; answer home buying questions; pre-qualify people for loans; and review area communities as well as individual homes.

The Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009 extended the tax credit of up to $8,000 for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence. It also authorized a tax credit of up to $6,500 for qualified repeat home buyers.  If you purchase a home by April 30, 2010 and close by June 30, 2010, you may qualify for one of the two available tax credits. The first-time homebuyer credit is for buyers who have not owned a home during the last 3 years. The other credit is for current homeowners who have used the home they are selling or vacating for 5 consecutive years within the last 8 years. The credit is 10% of the purchase price of the home up to $8,000 for first-time homebuyers and $6,500 for current homeowners. Read more

The Davidson Speaker Series and Jim Davidson Present The Development of World Golf Village

Great vision…hard knocks…tireless work…big risks…frustrating setbacks and huge wins are all part the compelling story about the development of World Golf Village. On February 25th as part of the Davidson Speaker Series, Jim Davidson, the original developer of World Golf Village, will present the amazing story of the community’s creation.  Jim recounts the ups and downs of 20 years work in developing one of the largest master-planned communities in Northeast Florida, and the development that spurred the growth and popularity of northwest St. Johns County that continues to this day. 

The Development of World Golf Village will be presented on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm. The Davidson Speaker Series was started by Sherry Davidson, President, Davidson Realty, Inc. so that local professionals could share their expertise with the community. Wine and cheese are served and the event is held in the Community Room at the Davidson Realty offices.

Doug DugganInclude me as one of the many who have started counting calories in an effort to lose a few pounds this new year.  Less than a week in, and I could certainly use some advice, motivation and frankly, a kick in the tush.  That’s why I’ll be hightailing it to Doug Duggan‘s Health & Fitness seminar on January 21st and hope you will, too.  A former Olympic weightlifter, Doug will cover a variety of fitness topics, including how to fit fitness into a busy lifestyle, and how to achieve a balanced physical fitness program.

Most of you know Doug as an experienced real estate pro, but you may not know that he  competed as a Weightlifter from 1955 to 2000, and spent 11 years as a certified personal trainer and owner of a gym in St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. Read more
